Automotive ADAS System Transmission and Protection: CAN Bus and In-Vehicle Ethernet Protection Solutions
With the rapid advancement of smart vehicles and autonomous driving technologies, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) have become an indispensable core feature in modern automobiles. Traditionally, CAN Bus (Controller Area Network) has been widely used due to its advantages of high reliability, low cost, and multi-node support, making it suitable for powertrain and chassis control systems. However, standard CAN only supports transmission speeds up to 1 Mbps, and even with CAN FD reaching 8 Mbps, it still cannot meet the high-bandwidth requirements of ADAS for image and sensor data transmission.
To address this challenge, the automotive industry is increasingly adopting high-speed Automotive Ethernet technologies such as 100BASE-T1 and 1000BASE-T1, which provide higher bandwidth and lower latency for data transmission.
