Industrial Computing and AIoT Enter a New Era of Cross-Sector Integration and Co-Creation
As AI sweeps across the globe and edge computing emerges as a key competitive force in smart industries, the Intelligent Computing & IoT Industry Association (ICAA) welcomes a new leader with both global vision and hands-on experience.
Ken Lu, Chairman of Winmate Inc., has officially been elected as the Chairman of ICAA's third Board of Directors. Having transformed Winmate into a leading global brand in rugged industrial computing, Lu now takes the helm of ICAA, steering the Association into a new chapter of industry integration.
From Hardware Manufacturer to Ecosystem Builder
Ken Lu's professional journey is not merely that of a hardware manufacturer—he is a long-term strategist in the "AI + IoT" space. Under his leadership, Winmate has made significant investments in rugged industrial computers, AI edge devices, and unmanned vehicle control platforms (GCS), with products deployed across mission-critical sectors such as global logistics, defense, maritime, and healthcare.
Now, Lu brings that experience to ICAA, infusing the Association with renewed energy for cross-sector collaboration and international engagement.
He remarks:
“We are entering an era where single-point innovation is no longer sufficient. Cross-disciplinary integration is the new standard. ICAA must become a bridge that connects industry, government, academia, and research—positioning Taiwan’s smart industry as a central node in the global value chain.”
Highlights of the 3rd-Term Leadership: Convergence, Globalization, and AI Transformation
The newly appointed Board of Directors and Supervisors includes representatives from leading companies in industrial computing, embedded systems, AI algorithm development, and smart manufacturing. Under their direction, ICAA has outlined three strategic pillars:
- Creating a Common Industry Language: Promote standardization of technologies, interface protocols, and cybersecurity frameworks to enable scalable export of Taiwan’s smart industry capabilities.
- Connecting Global Ecosystems: Build collaborative networks with benchmark organizations in Europe, the U.S., and Japan focused on smart cities and Industry 4.0, ensuring Taiwan’s access to the latest innovations.
- Empowering Talent and Market Transformation: With AI and edge computing as the foundation, support member companies in digital transformation and global market expansion.
Showcasing Taiwan’s Smart Industry on the World Stage
Now in its fourth year, ICAA has grown to include over 100 member companies, many of which are publicly listed and recognized as Taiwan’s key technology suppliers. From its early efforts in industrial computing collaboration to its current initiatives in AI deployment, low-earth orbit satellites, and military-grade certifications, ICAA has evolved from a platform into a force of industrial synergy.
Under the leadership of Ken Lu, there is growing anticipation that ICAA will emerge as a globally recognized hub of intelligent industry, opening the next chapter of Taiwan's smart manufacturing journey.
